FIX: SpaceAvailableInMB Property Returns Used Space Instead of Available Space

SYMPTOMS

The SQL Distributed Management Objects (SQL-DMO) SpaceAvailableInMB property should return the amount of disk resource that is allocated and unused in operating system files implementing a database and database transaction log storage. In the retail version of SQL Server 7.0, it incorrectly returns the amount of disk resource that is allocated and used in files making up a database.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server 7.0. This problem has been corrected in U.S. Service Pack 1 for Microsoft SQL Server 7.0. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
