Forefront Server Security Management Console Hotfix Rollup 5 downloads and provides the Kaspersky 8 scan engine to any Forefront or Antigen installations in your environment that have the ability to utilize the Kaspersky 8 scan engine.

The Forefront Server Security Management Console (FSSMC) does not generate an out-of-date engine report when run from the “View Report” panel

The Forefront Server Security Management Console (FSSMC) does not generate an out-of-date engine report when run from the “View Report” panel

Symptoms An out-of-date engine report run from the “View Report” section of FSSMC will generate a blank report even when there are indeed out of date engines

KNOWN ISSUE


If you have recently upgraded to Hotfix Rollup 2 for Forefront Security for Exchange (FSE) Service Pack 2, or to Hotfix Rollup 3 for Forefront Security for SharePoint (FSSP) Service Pack 3, you may be unable to update to the Kaspersky 8 engine version, or receive subsequent Kaspersky signature updates. If you are experiencing this issue, please apply the following appropriate hotfix:

Forefront Security for Exchange: KB 2420644

Forefront Security for SharePoint: KB 2422053

How to install the hotfix rollup

To install the hotfix rollup, follow these steps:
  1. Run the installer. To do this, double-click the hotfix rollup executable file.

  2. After the installation is complete, and the FSSMC services are started, make sure that FSSMC is working correctly.

Prerequisites

This hotfix rollup requires that the Forefront Server Security Management Console is installed.
