Symptoms

When you open a new meeting in Microsoft Outlook 2010, you do not see the Meeting Workspace button. However, the Meeting Workspace button appears on the ribbon in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, as shown in the following figure.

Cause

This issue occurs because the Meeting Workspace button is removed from the ribbon in Outlook 2010.

Resolution

To access the Meeting Workspace button in Outlook 2010, add the Meeting Workspace button to the Quick Access Toolbar or to the ribbon. To do this, follow the steps in any of the following sections: 

Add the Meeting Workspace button to the Quick Access Toolbar
  1. Open a new meeting item.
  2. Click the Customize Quick Access Toolbar control, and then select More Commands.

  3. Select Popular Commands in the Choose commands from list, select Meeting Workspace under Popular Commands, click Add, and then click OK.

  4. To create a meeting workspace, click the Meeting Workspace button in the Quick Access toolbar.

  5. Create your meeting workspace in the Meeting Workspace pane.

    Note
    The Meeting Workspace button is now available in the Quick Access toolbar for any meeting that you open.

  1. Open a new meeting item.
  2. Right-click the ribbon, and then select Customize the Ribbon.

  3. Click New Group to add a new group to the first tab of the meeting item.

  4. Select Popular Commands in the Choose commands from list, select Meeting Workspace under Popular Commands, click Add, and then click OK.
  5. To create a meeting workspace, click the Meeting Workspace button in the ribbon of a new meeting.
  6. Create your meeting workspace in the Meeting Workspace pane.

    Note
    The Meeting Workspace button is now available in the Meeting tab of the ribbon for any meeting that you open.
