SYMPTOMS

Outlook custom forms that contain Visual Basic Scripting Edition (VBScript) code do not function as you expect because characters are missing from the code at 4K intervals (about every 4,096 characters).

CAUSE

This is a bug in Outlook 2010 and occurs when Outlook reads and writes the VBScript code that is stored within the form.

RESOLUTION

This problem is fixed in the October 2010 Cumulative Update for Outlook 2010. If you are using Outlook custom forms with more than 4,096 characters of VBScript code, you should obtain the latest Cumulative Update for Outlook 2010, which can be downloaded from the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

Description of the Outlook 2010 hotfix package (outlook-x-none.msp): October 26, 2010   (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2405793/ )

The issue will also be fixed in Outlook 2010 SP1 when that becomes available.
