"MSN, The Microsoft Network" Icon Not Updated During Upgrade

SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade your Microsoft Windows 95-based or Windows 98-based computer to Windows 98 Second Edition, the "MSN, The Microsoft Network" icon may not be updated. Also, when you click About MSN on the MSN Quick View menu, the version of MSN may not be 5.0.

CAUSE

This problem occurs due to problems in Windows 98 Second Edition.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, perform the steps listed in the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
