Cannot Hide Mail Toolbar Button for Non-Administrators

SYMPTOMS

When you install Internet Explorer Administration Kit 5 (IEAK) on a computer running Windows NT Service Pack 3 or Service Pack 4, restrictions to "hide" the Mail button on the toolbar (and other related keys) is not set properly for non-administrator users.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Internet Explorer 5 service pack that contains this hotfix.
