FIX: Cannot Properly Add IPX/SPX Address to Server Network Utility

SYMPTOMS

When you select the Network Address option for the NWLink IPX/SPX Network-Library in the Server Network Utility, you are asked to supply values for Address, Port, and Network. However, the Network option should not be required. Also, there is no option to specify that the service is Hidden.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server 7.0. This problem has been corrected in U.S. Service Pack 1 for Microsoft SQL Server 7.0. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

In SQL Server 7.0 Service Pack 1, the Server Network Utility dialog box no longer requires an entry for Network, and provides a Hidden Service check box as well.
