OLEXP: No .pab File Created When Exporting Address Book from Outlook Express

SYMPTOMS

In Outlook Express 5, if you point to Export on the File menu, click Address Book, click Microsoft Personal Address Book, and then click Export, you receive the following message:
Address Book export process has completed.
However, no .pab file may be created on your computer.

CAUSE

The export process is designed to export directly into a Microsoft Exchange Personal Address Book on the same computer. If Microsoft Exchange is not installed on the computer, this process does not work. The "Address Book export process has completed" message is misleading.

If Microsoft Outlook is installed on the computer, you are prompted to select the Microsoft Exchange profile to which you want to export the Address Book entries.
