SYMPTOMS

When a Web browser control is hosted in a Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 program, created dynamically, and made visible using a ShowWindow call, a simple Navigate method call may cause the program to stop responding (hang) if Internet Explorer 5 is installed.

CAUSE

Internet Explorer incorrectly handles a FreezeEvents(FALSE) call before a FreezeEvents(TRUE) call. Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) uses this combination.
