SYMPTOMS

After applying Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4 (SP4) or 5 (SP5), the Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes option is enabled, even if it was disabled before applying the service pack.

CAUSE

The service pack installation program does not check the status of this option, and enables it regardless of the setting.

RESOLUTION

Windows NT Server or Workstation 4.0

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Windows NT 4.0 and Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition.

This problem was first corrected in Windows NT Server 4.0 Service Pack 6 and Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition Service Pack 6.
