Browse Button Does Not Work Specifying a Directory or Filename

SYMPTOMS

On a file upload page the Browse button does not open the Browse dialog box when a pathname is specified in the filename edit box. For example, the Browse button does not open the Browse dialog box when you use MCIS HMI or Hotmail.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem in Internet Explorer 5.0 is now available from Microsoft, but has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to computers experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely effected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next release of Internet Explorer 5.
