Symptoms

Assume that you have only one connection filter in Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010, and you try to remove the filter by clicking the Edit Connection Filters option. In this situation, the filter is removed. However, when you click Edit Connection Filters again, the filter is still displayed.

Workaround

To work around this issue, use one of the following methods.

Method 1

To remove the filter by using the Miisclient.exe process, follow these steps.

Note By default, the Miisclient.exe file is located along the following path:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Office Servers\14.0\Synchronization Service\UIShell
  1. Click Management Agents, and then double-click the connection that contains the filter you want to remove. Then, a Properties window for the connection appears.
  2. Click Configure Connector Filter on the left side of Properties window, locate the filter, and then click Delete.
  3. Click OK to exit the Properties window.

Method 2

Create another connection filter, and then remove the filter that you want to remove.

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
