Internet Explorer 9 is no longer installed after you upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7

SYMPTOMS

You install Windows Internet Explorer 9 on a computer that is running Windows Vista. However, Internet Explorer 9 is replaced with Windows Internet Explorer 8 if you upgrade the computer to Windows 7. 

CAUSE

When you upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7, the upgrade process does not check the current version of Internet Explorer. Windows then installs Internet Explorer 8 from the Windows 7 installation source.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install Internet Explorer 9 after you upgrade to Windows 7. To download Internet Explorer 9, visit the following Microsoft website:
