SYMPTOMS

You may receive the following message when attempting to use Outlook Help:
This page provides potentially unsafe information to an Active X control. Your current security settings prohibit running controls in this manner. As a result, this page may not display properly.

CAUSE

The Comcat.dll file may be corrupted, missing, or the wrong version.

RESOLUTION

Search for and rename all copies of the Comcat.dll file on your computer and then reinstall Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.

MORE INFORMATION

Another program may have installed a different version of the Comcat.dll file. It is important that you find and rename all copies of this file before reinstalling Internet Explorer 5. Otherwise, you may receive additional error messages such as:
Unable to find function "DLLRegisterServer" in file C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\COMCAT.DLL.

Error occurred calling "DLLRegisterServer" in C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\ASCTRLS.OCX (HRESULT=80004005).

Error occurred calling "DLLRegisterServer" in C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DAXCTLE.OCX (HRESULT=80004005).
