INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • When you open a project that contains invalid data in Office Project 2007, and then you try to close the project, the application may crash.

  • Consider the following scenario. You edit the time-phased cost for a task on the task level in Office Project 2007. Then, you roll down to the assignment level to edit the time-phased cost. In this scenario, the time-phased view is not displayed correctly.

  • When you change the duration period of a task in Office Project 2007, and then you try to save the project in the Microsoft Project 2000-2003 (*.mpp) format, you receive the following error message:

    Microsoft Office Project.
An unexpected error occurred during command execution.
  • Consider the following scenario. You add exceptions for Working time in a resource’s calendar in Office Project 2007. However, the exceptions are already specified for that period as Nonworking time in the resource’s base calendar. In this scenario, the project crashes.

  • Enterprise outline codes are not displayed correctly when you have the Russian currency set as the default currency in Office Project 2007.

  • When you previously opened an earlier version of a project file from a local system, you cannot edit and update the latest version of the same project file that is saved in Project Web Access (PWA).

  • Consider the following scenario. You configure a required enterprise custom field that is driven by a multivalued lookup table in PWA. Then, you create a project plan and select multiple values that contain more characters than the character limitation for the field in a local system. When you save the project plan in this scenario, you receive the following error message:
Project cannot save this project until all required fields have values.
You must specify values for all required project and task fields before saving the project to Project Server.
Insert the fields as columns in the task sheet and edit the values or specify these fields in the project or Task Information dialog box.
  • Consider the following scenario. You save a project file in the Microsoft Office Project 2007 (*.mpp) format in Project 2010. Then, you click the Save As button to save the project in Office Project 2007. In this scenario, when you reopen the project in Offie Project 2007, the data in the project is corrupted.

  • After you accept task updates for a project plan in PWA, then you open the project in Office Project 2007. In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
Your action may result in the project becoming out of synch with the actuals updated from timesheets. You can sync: synch actuals with the Synch actuals command on the Tracking menu, or synch actuals when you save the project.
  • Consider the following scenario. You open an enterprise project that contains enterprise custom fields in Microsoft Office Project Server 2007. The enterprise project is driven by enterprise lookup tables in a local system. In this scenario, the values in the enterprise custom fields are displayed incorrectly. Specifically, they are replaced with the values from the local lookup table.

  • When you copy and paste data in a master project from a subproject in Office Project 2007, the project application crashes.

  • You try to copy a calendar by clicking the Copy Calendar button in PWA for Office Project 2007. However, the new calendar entry that is created from the copy request is corrupted. Additionally, you cannot edit the new calendar entry.

  • When you open a project in Office Project 2007, the Links Between Projects dialog box is not displayed.

  • You insert project tasks from a subproject to a master project in Office Project 2007. However, the values in the Earned Value fields in the master project differ from the values in the Earned Value fields in the subproject.

  • When you save the project in Office Project 2007, and then you reopen the project later, the project data is corrupted. Specifically, the data is missing or is no longer displayed correctly.

  • The save process fails at the first try when you try to save some projects in Office Project 2007. Additionally, you receive the following error message in ULS log or event log:
    Job Type: Save
    Error ID: 12005(0x2EE5)
Error Description: Queue Failed to Process the message.
Note This issue does not occur if the project document is already in local cache.
