SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You install Microsoft BizTalk Adapter Pack 2.0 on a computer that is running Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2 or Microsoft BizTalk Server 2009.
  • You create a BizTalk application that uses Microsoft BizTalk Adapter 3.0 for Oracle Database (also known as the Oracle Database adapter) to perform a SQLEXECUTE operation on an Oracle database.
  • A request is received by the BizTalk application.
In this scenario, the adapter of the application does not process the request correctly. Additionally, an event entry that resembles the following is logged in the Application log:
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: BizTalk Server 2009
Event Category: BizTalk Server 2009
Event ID: 5743
Description:
The adapter failed to transmit message going to send port "<send port>" with URL "<URL>". It will be retransmitted after the retry interval specified for this Send Port. Details:"System.Xml.XmlException: Start element 'SQLSTATEMENT' expected. Found element 'ns0:SQLSTATEMENT' from namespace 'http://Microsoft.LobServices.OracleDB/2007/03/SQLEXECUTE'.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because of an error in BizTalk Adapter 3.0 for Oracle Database.

RESOLUTION

Cumulative update information


A specific hotfix is available to resolve this issue. This hotfix is available individually and is included in Cumulative Update 1 for BizTalk Adapter Pack 2.0.

To perform an SQLEXECUTE operation on an Oracle database, you have to create a schema for the SQLEXECUTE operation by using the Consume Adapter Service BizTalk project add-in.

This issue usually occurs when you select the SQLEXECUTE schema as the destination schema in the BizTalk mapper to create the requests. The request that is created by the mapper contains a series of node numbers such as ns0, ns1, and ns2. For example, the request resembles the following:
