SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a computer that is running Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2 or Microsoft BizTalk Server 2009.
  • You use Microsoft BizTalk Adapter 3.0 for Oracle Database or Microsoft BizTalk Adapter 3.0 for Oracle E-Business Suite to connect to an Oracle server.

Note BizTalk Adapter 3.0 for Oracle Database and BizTalk Adapter 3.0 for Oracle E-Business Suite are included in Microsoft BizTalk Adapter Pack 2.0.
  • A column setting that allows for NULL values is enabled for a column of a table on the Oracle server.
  • You try to update the column value to a NULL value by using the Oracle database adapter or by using the Oracle E-Business Suite adapter. Additionally, the SkipNilNodes binding property is set to TRUE.

For example, you use the adapter to send the following message that updates the value of a column:
    <ns0:ColumnName xsi:nil="true"><ns0:REHIRE_DT>
Note ColumnName is a placeholder for the name of the column.

In this scenario, the column value is not updated.
