Symptoms

You see a dialog window after you open Internet Explorer which states that your installed version of the ALOT Toolbar is not compatible with Internet Explorer 8.

Cause

The ALOT Toolbar is an add-on for Internet Explorer. Your version of the ALOT Toolbar is incompatible with Internet Explorer 8.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Update your software

Download the new version of the add-on that will work with Internet Explorer 8. To do this, click the 3rd party site button:

Fix the problem manually

To fix the problem manually, follow these steps:
  1. Close all Internet Explorer windows.
  2. Open a new Internet Explorer window.
  3. When you see the message that states “Manage add-ons” for the ALOT Toolbar, Click Always open Internet Explorer without this add-on. The add-on will not be loaded again, and Internet Explorer 8 will work without any issues.

    Note When you click Always open Internet Explorer without this add-on, the add-on is disabled and is not loaded when you start Internet Explorer.
