OFF2000: Help Button Is Unavailable in Custom Maintenance Wizard

SYMPTOMS

When you start the Custom Maintenance Wizard (CMW), the Help button may be unavailable (dimmed).

CAUSE

The Help button may be unavailable if the Custom Maintenance Wizard Help file, Maintwiz.hlp, is not located in the same folder as Maintwiz.exe.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, do the following:
  1. Quit the Custom Maintenance Wizard.
  2. Move the Custom Maintenance Wizard Help file, Maintwiz.hlp, to the same folder as Maintwiz.exe.
  3. Start the Custom Maintenance Wizard.
If you did not download the Custom Maintenance Wizard Help file when you downloaded the Custom Maintenance Wizard, you can download it from the Office Resource Kit Internet Web site. To do this:
  1. Enter the following URL in your Web browser:
    http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/2000/appndx/toolbox.htm#maintwiz (http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/2000/appndx/toolbox.htm#maintwiz)
  2. Scroll down the page and locate the link for Maintwiz.hlp.
  3. Right-click the link for Maintwiz.hlp.
  4. Click Save Target As in the shortcut menu.
  5. Select the folder containing Maintwiz.exe as the download location in the Save As dialog box, and click Save.
