An update for Microsoft OLE DB Provider for DB2 v3 and for Host Integration Server 2010 is available to enable client transaction load balancing

SYMPTOMS

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for DB2 v3 and Microsoft Host Integration Server 2010 do not support client transaction load balancing.

This hotfix adds the client transaction load balancing feature to the provider.

To resolve this problem, apply this hotfix. Additionally, you must enable the hotfix in the registry. For more information about how to enable this hotfix in the registry, see the Registry information section.

How to back up and restore the registry in Windows

To enable this hotfix, follow these steps:

Start Registry Editor. To do this, click Start

, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Locate and then click to select the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Host Integration Server\Data Integration
After you select the subkey that is specified in step 2, point to New on the Edit menu, and then click DWORD Value.
Type EnableLoadBalance, and then press ENTER.
Right-click EnableLoadBalance, and then click Modify.
In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
Locate and then click to select the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSDRDA
After you select the subkey that is specified in step 7, point to New on the Edit menu, and then click DWORD Value.
Type LoadBalancing, and then press ENTER.
Right-click LoadBalancing, and then click Modify.
In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
On the File menu, click Exit to exit Registry Editor.
