URL Is Truncated If Longer Than 255 Characters for Plug-ins and ActiveX Controls

SYMPTOMS

Web addresses (URLs) that are longer than 255 characters are truncated before being passed to a plug-in or ActiveX control, causing the plug-in or ActiveX control not to gain access to the requested resource.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Internet Explorer version 5.01. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS
