SYMPTOMS

You configure Active Directory directory service attributes and Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) settings by using Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 ABS Configuration Tool. However, the flags that you have configured on the Active Directory attributes and the WMI settings are reset back to default values after you apply the update that is described in Knowledge Base (KB) article 979857 or a later update.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install the following cumulative update:
2404534 Description of the cumulative update package for Office Communications Server 2007 R2 database: November, 2010

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
