When you re-create an offline subscription that you previously removed from an end-user computer, the "old" subscription items remain in the synchronization dialog box. During the creation of the new offline subscription, the Items to Synchronize dialog box appears to show the status of the subscription processing. On the Progress tab of the Items to Synchronize dialog box, you can see the objects from the previously removed subscription. If the new subscription is based on the same publication as the "old" subscription, it appears that there are duplicate items in the list.
CAUSE
When a new subscription is created and an "old" version of that same subscription previously existed on the same computer, the Items to Synchronize dialog box must be stopped and restarted to accurately reflect the current subscription items.
RESOLUTION
Stop and restart the Items to Synchronize program. On computers running Microsoft Windows NT or Microsoft Windows 2000:
