The following changes have been made in NetMeeting 3.01
Service Pack 1:
NOTE: NetMeeting 3.01 SP1 is version 4.4.3388.
- The Automatically Accept Calls setting is preserved by default when NetMeeting is quit and
started again.
- A new Microsoft NetMeeting Resource Kit policy has been
added to use computer-specific certificates for privacy. This policy enables
multiple users in Microsoft Windows 95 and Microsoft Windows 98 to place secure
NetMeeting calls.
- Passwords for Remote Desktop Sharing are now preserved on
Windows 95-based and Windows 98-based computers that do not have network
adapters.
- A new NetMeeting Resource Kit policy has been added to turn
off all H.323 signaling and place calls using only the T.120
protocol.
- A problem that caused shared Microsoft Office 2000 programs
to have corrupted text on Thai and other complex-script platforms was
corrected.
- A problem that caused an error in Rsvp.exe when hanging up
a NetMeeting call was corrected.
- A new NetMeeting Resource Kit policy has been added to turn
on or off the use of Winsock 2 functions (such as RSVP) in
NetMeeting.
- A problem in which Chat drops messages to computers
connected to slow network links was corrected.
- A problem in which Conf caused an invalid page fault in
(unknown) when receiving a call was corrected.
- A problem in which Conf caused a divide error when
NetMeeting starts was corrected.
- A problem in which the File Transfer tools opens the wrong
folder to view received files was corrected.
- A problem in which the Accept/Ignore dialog box obtains the window focus while NetMeeting runs in
background mode was corrected.
- The NetMeeting Resource Kit wizard was changed so that
policies apply to all users of a computer.
- A problem in which the Whiteboard tool loses text from
saved files in some circumstances was corrected.
- The default setting for the Automatically Adjust Microphone feature is now "Off."
- Call placement time to and from computers sending video has
been significantly reduced over slower networks.
Additional changes have also been made in the service pack
to enhance NetMeeting performance. NetMeeting Service Pack 2 (SP2) is now
available. It includes the latest version of NetMeeting 3.01, software
development kit (SDK) bug fixes, and all of the fixes that are previously
included in SP1.
