SUMMARY

This article describes the Scanners and Cameras Installation Wizard in Microsoft Windows Millennium.

MORE INFORMATION

Windows Millennium has a Scanners and Cameras Installation Wizard to help you install a digital camera, scanner, or other still image device that is not detected using Plug and Play. To install a still image device that is not detected using Plug and Play, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Control Panel, and then double-click Scanners and Cameras.
  2. Double-click Add Device, and then follow the steps displayed on the screen to complete the installation.
  3. Click Finish, and then click Close to close the Scanners & Cameras window.
NOTE: In order for the device to appear in the Scanners and Cameras folder, it must have a Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) compatible driver. Streaming cameras, sometimes called WebCams, may also appear under Scanners and Cameras if they use a WIA supported driver. If the device uses a WIA supported driver, the streaming camera can be used to capture a still image.
