SYMPTOMS

In the ActiveX Script Transformation Properties dialog box of the DTS Designer, an attempt to test a Transform that does not have any destination columns fails with the following error:
Incomplete file format information - file cannot be opened.
The actual error message is returned within a message box after double-clicking on the failed 'DTS Testing Transform Task' step.

The same behavior can be observed by right-clicking the Transform through the Data Transformation Properties dialog box and then selecting the Test (CTRL+T) option.
