This article discusses how to remove the Microsoft IntelliPoint software for Macintosh.

These steps should be used to troubleshoot the IntelliPoint software on a Macintosh computer running Mac OS System 8.0 and later. Mac OS X is not supported with the products listed at the beginning of this article.

To remove the IntelliPoint software, follow these steps:
  1. Double-click the Macintosh Hard Drive.
  2. Double-click the System Folder.
  3. Double-click Control Panels.
  4. Drag and drop the IntelliPoint Control Panel to the Trash.
  5. Close Control Panels.
  6. Double-click the Extensions folder.
  7. Drag and drop the following three files to the Trash:
    • USB IntelliMouse
    • USB IntelliMouse Explorer
    • USB IntelliMouse IntelliEye
  8. Close the Extensions folder.
  9. Double-click the Preferences folder.
  10. Drag and drop the following two files to the Trash:
    • IntelliPoint Preferences
    • IntelliPoint Mouse Preferences
  11. Open the Help Folder.
  12. Drag the IntelliPoint Help Folder to the trash.
  13. Restart the computer.
  14. Empty the Trash.
