SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You insert a storage device into a Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3-based device.

Note The storage device is formatted by using the Extended File Allocation Table (exFAT) file system or the Transaction-safe Extended File Allocation Table (TexFAT) file system.
  • You configure the delay time for the PNPUnloadDelay registry entry in the following path to a specific value:

    HKLM\System\StorageManager

    Note
The delay time is the value of the registry entry.
  • You suspend and then resume the device.
In this scenario, the Exfat.dll file system driver is unloaded unexpectedly. After the specified time delay, the storage device is mounted with a different volume letter. Additionally, you cannot access the content of the storage device.
