Your Live Meeting Service presenter password is included in the INVITE message when you start a meeting by using Live Meeting Service in Lync 2010

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You use Microsoft Lync 2010 on a computer that has Live Meeting 2007 installed.
  • Live Meeting 2007 is configured to use Live Meeting Service.
  • You right-click a contact in Lync 2010, and then you select Meet Now using Live Meeting Service.
In this scenario, the INVITEmessage includes your Live Meeting Service presenter password.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because the parameters are not filtered correctly when the INVITE message is constructed.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install the following cumulative update:
2467763 Description of the cumulative update package for Lync 2010: January 2011

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
