On This PageSUMMARYThis article describes the Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 issue that is fixed in the hotfix package that is dated February 22, 2011. INTRODUCTIONIssue that this hotfix package fixesYou try to view a Microsoft Visio 2010 diagram in a SharePoint Server 2010 site by using a web browser that has Silverlight disabled. In this situation, the Visio 2010 diagram is not displayed. Additionally, you receive the following error message:Unable to retrieve data from the server. The web request failed. Note This issue specifically occurs when the SharePoint farm includes multiple web front-end servers and there is no load balancer that keeps affinity between the web browser and the web front-end servers. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article.
