Read receipts cannot be moved into an online archive folder when you use Outlook and Exchange 2010

Symptoms

In Microsoft Outlook while connected to Microsoft Exchange 2010, you send an email message for which you also request a read receipt. When the read receipt arrives in your Inbox, you can read it or delete it. However, when you try to move the read receipt to a folder within your online archive, you receive one of the following error messages:

Error message 1
Cannot move the items. The item cannot be moved. It was either already moved or deleted, or access was denied.

Error message 2
Cannot move the items. The client operation failed.

Error message 3
Could not complete the move. The items may have been already moved or deleted.

Any other Inbox item can be moved to the online archive folder without any problems.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the following update rollup:
2425179 Description of Update Rollup 2 for Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 1

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
