SUMMARY

In the Readme.txt file that is included with the Microsoft Office 2000 Resource Kit, there are instructions about how to customize the Places Bar in the Office 2000 Save As and Open dialog boxes (on the File menu). The instructions tell you to add an entry to the wrong registry key.

NOTE: The Places Bar is the bar on the left side of certain dialog boxes that contains shortcuts to the History, My Documents, Desktop, Favorites, and Web Folders folders.

In the "Save As/File Open dialog - Places Bar customization" section, the instructions tell you to add the ItemSize entry to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Common\Open Find\Places\UserDefinedPlaces
The correct key to add the ItemSize entry to is:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Common\Open Find\Places
