The postal code of a contact appears in an incorrect position after you synchronize contacts from a Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 server to a Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 client for Microsoft Office Outlook

Assume that a contact is updated in a Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 server. After you synchronize contacts from the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server to a Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 client for Microsoft Office Outlook, the postal code of the contact appears in an incorrect position. This problem occurs if you have Update Rollup 10 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 or a later update rollup installed.

To enable this hotfix on a computer that is running Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Microsoft Office Outlook, follow these steps:

1. Under the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSCRMClient registry subkey on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM client for Outlook, add the following REG_DWORD registry entry:
   EnableZipCityStateFormat
2. Set the value of the registry entry that you just added to 1.

• If you set the value to 0, the position of the postal code is as follows:
  City State Postal_code
• If you set the value to 1, the position of the postal code is as follows:
  Postal_code City State
• The City placeholder represents the actual city name, the State placeholder represents the actual state name and the Postal_code placeholder represents the actual postal code.
