Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You use ActiveSync to synchronize with a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 mailbox on a mobile device, such as a Windows Phone 7-based phone.

  • There is a recurring calendar item which has lots of exceptions in the mailbox.

In this scenario, the calendar synchronization times out. Additionally, you receive a “0x80072ee2” error code message.

Note Contacts and email messages in the mailbox can still be synchronized successfully.
