Microsoft has released an update that is dated January 2011. This rollup update contains all the previously released updates for HMC 4.0. This update resolves issues in the following components in Microsoft Solution for Hosted Messaging and Collaboration 4.0 (HMC 4.0):

Issues that the update rollup resolves

This update rollup also resolves the following issues that are not documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article:

• In Hosted SharePoint 2007, the schema for the ModifyCustomerSiteQuota web service does not let users set quota values greater than 1 gigabytes (GB) through web services.
• An unexpected error may occur when you change a SharePoint site to a different site collection language.
• The CreateResourceMailbox procedure in the Hosted Email 2007 namespace fails, and error stack information indicates that the Set-MailboxCalendarSettings command caused the issue. To work around this issue by using this update, you have to add the following XML element to the executeData node of the procedure request:

  If you have to set the MailboxCalendarSettings attributes, add a call to the ModifyResourceMailbox procedure afterward.

Update rollup information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

Prerequisites

To apply this update, you must have Hosted Messaging and Collaboration version 4.0 installed. Additionally, you must be a member of the Domain Admins group.

Note The HMC Deployment Tool must be installed on the first Microsoft Provisioning Server (MPS) Engine server.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this update rollup. However, you have to restart some services during the installation.

Hotfix replacement information

This update replaces all the previously released updates.

File information

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.

Installation information

To install this update rollup, follow these steps:

1. Log on to the first MPS server (MPS01) as a member of the Domain Admins group.
2. On the MPS01 server, start the Deployment Tool to uninstall the following old components:
   • Hosted SharePoint 2007 Namespace

   • Hosted SharePoint 2007 Web Services
   • Managed SharePoint 2007 Web Services
   • Exchange 2007 Provider
   • DNS Provider

3. Extract the update rollup package on to the MPS server in a temporary location. For example, extract it to the following location:
   
   C:\temp\QFERollupPackage
4. Rename or make copies of the existing files in the C:\MSIShare\ folder that have the following file names, and then copy the following MSI files from the C:\temp\QFERollupPackage\ folder to the C:\MSIShare\ folder:

6. In the Deployment Tool, expand Hosted Exchange, expand Exchange Provisioning Configuration, right-click the following nodes, and then run the Initialize commands:
   • Hosted Email 2007
   • Managed Email 2007
   • Exchange 2007 Resource Manager
   • Exchange 2007 OAB Resource Manager
7. In the Deployment Tool, right-click the following nodes, and then run the Initialize commands:
   • Hosted SharePoint 2007
   • Managed SharePoint 2007
   • Active Directory for Hosting
   • Namespace Security
8. Click Start Deployment.
9. Log on to DNS01 by using a domain administrator account.
10. Copy the DNSClient.msi file from the update package and run it two times. This action removes the previously installed version of the DNS Client and installs a new version. To install the DNSClient.msi component, follow the instructions in the "Deploy the MPS DNS Client" section of the HMC 4.0 deployment guide. 11. Configure the DNS Web Client. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. In Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager, right-click DNSProvider, select Properties, and then select Directory Security.
    2. Under Authentication and Access Control, click Edit.
    3. Set the default domain value for the basic authentication setting to '\' (backslash). Click OK.
    4. Select Require security channel (SSL).
    5. Save the configuration changes, and close IIS Manager.
    6. Restart IIS.
12. On all front-end SharePoint servers (COLLAB0n), uninstall the old version of the WindowsSharePointServicesWebService.msi file. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Copy the new version of the WindowsSharePointServicesWebService.msi file from MPS01 to COLLAB0n.
    2. Run the new version of the WindowsSharePointServicesWebService.msi file.
    3. Restart IIS on all SharePoint servers.

13. On the MPSSQL server that has the resource manager database, install the ResourceManageDatabase.msi component. When you run the ResourceManageDatabase.msi component, the following actions are performed:
    1. The following index is added to the [rmcore_Candidates] table:
       
       rmcore_candidates_ix_target_set_object_category_object_id_trans_id
    2. The following stored procedures that perform read-only operations on the ResourceManager database is added:
       • SeleteAndAssembleAllocateOrgMailStores
       • SeleteAndAssembleReallocateOrgMailStores
    3. The following user-defined functions that perform read-only operations on the resource manager database are added:
       • fn_min (scalar valued)
       • fn_ResourceCapacityOnAllocatedMailStores (table-valued)
       • fn_ResourceCapacityOnUnallocatedMailStores (table-valued)
14. If you have to create a shared offline address book (OAB) when you approach the 32,000 limit of OABs, run theSharedOABUtility.msi file on MPS01, and then accept the default settings. 15. Restart the Provisioning Engine. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. On the MPS Engine servers, start Component Services.
    2. Expand Component Services, expand Computers, and then expand My Computer.
    3. Click COM+ Applications.
    4. Right-click Provisioning Engine, and then click Shut Down.
    5. Right-click Provisioning Engine, and then click Start.
16. Restart IIS on each Web services server.
