SYMPTOMS

When you customize directory synchronization between Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server and Lotus Notes, the following error is logged in the application log:

Source: MSExchangeNOTES
Category: Notes Interface
Event ID: 8226
Description: Process LME-NOTES-NTSMEX terminated abnormally

The Microsoft Exchange Connector for Lotus Notes is then stopped.

CAUSE

The Amap.tbl file is limited to using a maximum of 28 non-commented fields.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 1.
