Details of the issues that are fixed in the hotfix rollup

  1. Temporary files filling Forefront Security for Office Communications Server directory
    Summary
The following directory fills with temporary files and Forefront is unable to delete them:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Forefront Security\Office Communications Server\Data\FileXfer

    Cause
This happens because the process used to write the file to this directory does not release the handle to the file in a timely fashion.

    Symptoms
The FileXfer directory begins to fill with .TMP files.
The following error is logged to the Application Log:
    Log Name:Application
    Source:ForefrontRTCProxy64
    Date:10/20/2010 3:10:30 PM
    Event ID: 10116

The following error will be logged to the Forefront Trace Log:

[Date/Time/Month] (PID), "EXCEPTION: Microsoft.FSO.Common.dll.TemporaryFile.TryDelete("") - Failed to delete temporary file: {0}" The system returned the following exception: The process cannot access the file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Forefront Security\Office Communications Server\Data\FileXfer\FILENAME.tmp' because it is being used by another process

  2. Dr. Watson reports a null reference exception in GetEngineFile.exe in Forefront; Bucket ID [2037150345]
    Symptoms
Dr. Watson reports Bucket ID [2037150345] when this issue occurs.
  3. The Kaspersky 8 antivirus engine used in Forefront Security for Office Communications Server does not have incremental update functionality

    Summary
An issue has been identified in Forefront Security for Office Communications Server in the way that it retrieves updates for version 8 of the Kaspersky antivirus scan engine.
The incremental engine update functionality may fail resulting in a full engine update. This full engine update may require downloading an engine file package in excess of 160 megabytes. Due to the size and frequency of the engine update, servers may experience a noticeable spike in resource consumption.
