SUMMARY

This article describes the Microsoft Office Project 2007 issues that are fixed in the Project Server 2007 hotfix package that is dated April 26, 2011.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • A Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 user updates the Physical % Complete field in the My Task page through Project Web Access (PWA).
    • A project manager opens the Task Updates page.
    • The project manager views the task details.

In this scenario, the Physical % Complete field in the transaction history does not show the incremental update accurately. For example, if the Physical % Complete field is 50%, and a user submits a change to increment it to 75%, it shows the change as 0% to 75% instead of 50% to 75%.
  • The actual cost is not updated correctly when you use the Project Server Interface (PSI) to update the actual cost, and then view the actual cost in Office Project Professional 2007. For example, if you use the PSI to update actual costs, you cannot view the updated actual costs when you open the project plan in Office Project Professional 2007. However, you can view the actual costs in PWA.
  • The percentage values are exported incorrectly to Excel when you change the PWA site regional setting to a language other than English.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You create a custom date field that does not include a date (blank) in PWA.
    • You add the custom date field in your assignments view.
    • You click the Actions command in the My Task page through PWA.
    • You select the Export to Excel option.

In this scenario, you cannot export your tasks to Excel.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You view the actual work contour in a project plan in Office Project 2007 that is connected to a Project server.
    • You log on to the My Timesheets page through PWA.
    • You open analready approved timesheet in the My Timesheets page.
    • You recall your timesheet.
    • You change actual work on a task in the timesheet.
    • You add actual work to a nonworking administrative time category on the task.
    • You save the timesheet, and then submit it.
    • You open the project plan in Office Project 2007 after actual work is synchronized with the project plan.

In this scenario, the actual work contour displays incorrectly. For example, a value is displayed as 0.5d before. Now, the value is displayed as 0.51d.
  • The duration of the completed task is zero when you try to approve a status update on a project plan that contains a completed task through PWA.
  • When you log on to a project site through PWA, and then you try to view an issue that links to a deleted project task, you receive the following error message:
An error has occurred in the script on this page.
    Or
    An unexpected error has occurred.

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You set the Cost rate table option to A for a resource.
    • You create a project plan in Office Project 2007 that connects to an Office Project Server 2007 server.
    • You assign the resource to a task in the project plan.
    • You save the project plan, and then publish it.
    • You verify the cost associated with the resource assignment in the reporting database.
    • You change the Cost rate table option from A to another option (B-E), whose rates are not previously edited from the default value of zero, for the same resource on the same assignment.
    • You save the project plan, and then publish it.

In this scenario, the cost value of theassignment in the reporting database still displays the previous value.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You publish a project plan by using Office Project 2007 to an Office Project Server 2007 server.
    • You use the PSI to update an assignment or a task in the project plan.
    • You try to open the project plan in Office Project 2007.

In this scenario, Office Project 2007 cannot open the project plan. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
Unexpected problem when trying to open the file. The file may be damaged. Try to use a backup copy.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You have an Office Project Server 2007 environment.
    • You create a resource custom field that defines a default value in PWA.
    • You create a project plan that contains the resource custom field, and save it as a template.
    • You use the CreateProjectFromTemplate PSI method to create a new project plan based on this template.

In this scenario, the new project plan cannot be created.
  • Assume that you have published a project plan to an Office Project Server 2007 server. Then, a team member submits an update for approval. After you apply the update on the project plan, the status update job shows that the update job is finished successfully in Office Project Server 2007. However, when you open the project in Office Project 2007, you do not see the update.
