Symptoms

In Microsoft Commerce Server 2007 or in Microsoft Commerce Server 2009, you select the Replace import type to perform a catalog import. If the catalog data exists, the import takes a very long time to be completed.

For example, if you import a new catalog, the import takes about 10 minutes. If you use the Replace import type to import the same catalog file again after the first import, the import takes an hour to be completed.

Cause

The issue occurs because ctlg_RepairCatalogsAfterImport selects an inefficient query plan for the catalog import process.
