After you restore an offline backup of the information store, the database may not mount, and the following events appear in the application log:

To restore an offline backup, you must allow the database to be overwritten during a restore procedure. Follow these steps to enable this option:
| 1. | Start the Exchange System Manager. |
| 2. | Expand Servers, expand Server Name, expand Storage Group, and then click the database that was restored. |
| 3. | Right-click the database, and then click Properties. |
| 4. | Click the Database tab. |
| 5. | Click to select the This database can be overwritten by a restore check box. |
| 6. | Click OK. |
| 7. | To mount the database, right-click the database, and then click Mount Store. |

Unlike Exchange Server 5.5 and earlier, you do not need to run
isinteg -patch after you restore an offline backup.
