SYMPTOMS

Assume that you try to import an organization into Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. After you click Next for a selection in the Mapping page, the page stops responding.

RESOLUTION

To enable this fix on the CRM server, follow these steps:
Note This fix is not supported if the CRM Server is installed on a Windows Server 2003 server.
  1. Click Start, click Run, and then type regedit.
  2. Navigate to the following location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSCRM
  3. Right-click the MSCRM registry key hive, and then click New DWORD (32-Bit) Value.
  4. Name the registry key OptimizeOrgImport_KeepUserMappings.
  5. Set the value of the registry you just added to 1.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
