Error message when you try to install the update package that is described in KB article 2404534 on an Office Communications Server 2007 R2 back-end server

SYMPTOMS

You customize the Address Book attributes by using the ABS Configuration Tool (ABSConfig.exe) in a Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 environment. Then, you try to install the OCS2009-DBUpgrade.msi update package that is described in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article 2404534 on a back-end server. In this situation, you receive the following error message:

There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

Additionally, the following error is logged in the setup log file (QFE_DbSetup.log):

Error executing batch dbrtc.sql on rtc

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK_AbAttribute'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.AbAttribute'.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install the following cumulative update:
2512777 Description of the cumulative update package for Office Communications Server 2007 R2 database: March, 2011

STATUS
