XADM: Renaming a Distribution Group Does Not Rename Other Properties

When you right-click a Distribution Group and then click Rename (or press F2), to rename the group in the Microsoft Windows 2000 Active Directory Users and Computers Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in, the corresponding group information is not changed. This includes the e-mail address, Exchange alias name, and proxy e-mail addresses.

Manually adjust the settings for the Distribution Group by opening the properties for the group.

This behavior is by design.
