SYMPTOMS

Setup fails to upgrade Exchange 2000 if Microsoft Windows Explorer has an open M: drive window.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because open windows have handles open to the Installable File System (IFS); therefore, the IFS cannot upgrade.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, close any open windows to the M: drive.

This is by design.
