Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in a Microsoft Host Integration Server 2006 or a Microsoft Host Integration Server 2009 environment:

  • You use the Enterprise Single Sign-On Management Agent (ENTSSO MA).

  • The management agent uses Microsoft Identity Lifecycle Manager (ILM) to update the Enterprise Single Sign-On database.

  • You use ILM to run a synchronization process that includes multiple updates for the ENTSSO MA to submit to the Enterprise Single Sign-On database.

  • The list of ENTSSO MA updates includes one or more ADD operations.

In this scenario, if an ADD operation is not completed successfully, the ENTSSO MA stops processing. Additionally, the ENTSSO MA cannot process any remaining updates when an error is encountered.

More Information

After you apply this update, the Enterprise Single Sign-On Management Agent logs an event when an update fails. Additionally, ENTSSO MA continues to process any remaining updates.

The following is an example of the kind of event that is logged on the Identity Lifecycle Manager computer that is running Enterprise Single Sign-On Management Agent, and a new mapping cannot be created in the Enterprise Single Sign-On database:

Also, an event message that resembles the following is logged on the computer that is running Enterprise Single Sign-On Server where the Enterprise Single Sign-On database is hosted:
