Description of the 2007 Office Servers SP3 and of the 2007 Office Servers Language Pack SP3

The 2007 Microsoft Office servers Service Pack 3 (SP3) and the 2007 Microsoft Office servers Language Pack SP3 provide the latest updates to the 2007 Office Servers and to the 2007 Office Servers Language Pack. This package includes 2007 Microsoft Project Server. These updates include two main categories of fixes: 

• Previously unreleased fixes that were made specifically for this service pack. In addition to general product fixes, this includes improvements in stability, performance, and security.
• All the public updates, security updates, cumulative updates, and hotfixes that were released through September 2011.

Note Some server products in this service pack install over Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. These server products require Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 SP3.

Note For the initial Microsoft Update release of Microsoft Office servers 2007 SP3, some user-initiated scenarios caused Microsoft Office servers  2007 SP3 to be offered to multi-server farms instead of only to single-server farms. The issue was resolved in November 2011; only single-server farms will now be offered the Microsoft Office servers SP3 update.

Because Office service packs are cumulative, you do not have to install Service Pack 1 or Service Pack 2 before you install Service Pack 3. Service Pack 3 includes all fixes which were included in Service Pack 1 and Service Pack 2.
