WD2000: Error Message: The Page Borders of Section <n> Are Set Outside the Printable Area ...

When you print your Word document that contains a page border, the following error message may appear: where n is the number of a section.

This problem occurs when you use a page border color that has a non-zero Green value. This problem does not occur when the Green value of a color is set to zero (0).

To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).

To obtain SR-1/SR-1a, click the article number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: To temporarily work around this problem, change the page border color to a different color. To do this, use one of the following methods:

Method 1: Change the Page Border to Black

1. On the Format menu, click Borders and Shading.
2. Click the Page Border tab.
3. Change the Color box to Black and click OK.

Method 2: Change the Page Border to a Custom Color

1. On the Format menu, click Borders and Shading.
2. Click to select the Page Border tab.
3. Click the down arrow in the Color box, and then click More Line Colors.
4. On the Custom tab, click the color you want, or enter the values for the color in the Hue, Sat, Lum, Red, Green, and Blue boxes. You can drag the slider to adjust the luminosity of the currently selected color.
   
   NOTE: Make sure that the color you select has a Green value of zero (0).
5. Click OK to close the Colors dialog box.
6. Click OK to close the Borders and Shading dialog box.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a.
