XL2000: Justify Command Does Not Insert Spaces Between Text from Each Cell

SYMPTOMS

When you select text in separate cells, if there is not a space between the last word in a cell, and the first word in the following selected cell(s), the space is not inserted when you use the Justify command (on the Edit menu, point to Fill).

Earlier versions of Excel insert a space between the words when you use this command.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

To temporarily work around this problem, before you use the Justify command, add a space to the end of the last word in each selected cell.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 Service Pack 2.
