If you use BizTalk Server branch edition together with standalone Microsoft BizTalk Adapter for SQL Server, the update entry only appears under Microsoft BizTalk Adapter for SQL Server in Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel (or Program and Features if you use Windows Vista or a later operating system) after you successfully install this cumulative update

Note Microsoft BizTalk Adapter Pack 2.0 Cumulative Update package update both Windows Communication Foundation LOB Adapter SDK SP2 and BizTalk Adapter Pack 2.0 files.

If you use other BizTalk Server editions together with BizTalk Adapter Pack 2.0, the update entry appears under Windows Communication Foundation LOB Adapter SDK in Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel (or Program and Features if you use Windows Vista or a later operating system).

INTRODUCTION

This cumulative update for Microsoft BizTalk Adapter Pack 2.0 contains hotfixes for Microsoft BizTalk Adapter Pack 2.0 issues that were resolved after the release of BizTalk Adapter Pack 2.0.

We recommend that you test hotfixes before you deploy them in a production environment. Because the builds are cumulative, each new update release contains all the hotfixes and all the security updates that were included in the previous BizTalk Adapter Pack 2.0 update release. We recommend that you consider applying the most recent update release that contains this hotfix.

Important notes about the cumulative update package

  • One cumulative hotfix package includes all the component packages. The cumulative update package updates only those components that are installed on the system.

How to obtain Cumulative Update 2 for BizTalk Adapter Pack 2.0

A supported cumulative update package is now available from Microsoft. However, the cumulative update package is intended to correct only the problems that are described in this article. Apply the cumulative update package only to systems that are experiencing these specific problems. This cumulative update package may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by any of these problems, we recommend that you wait for the next BizTalk Adapter Pack service pack. The next service pack will contain the hotfixes that are in this cumulative update package.

If the cumulative update is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article. If this section does not appear, contact Microsoft Customer Service and Support to obtain the cumulative update package.

Prerequisites

To apply this update, you must have BizTalk Adapter Pack 2.0 or Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) Line-of-Business (LOB) Adapter SDK Service Pack 2 (SP2) installed. If a Readme.txt file is included in this update, see the Readme.txt file for more information about how to install this update.

Restart requirement

You may have to restart the computer after you apply this cumulative update.

The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time.
