Works 2000 Err Msg: Wkswp Caused a Stack Fault in Module Wkmmwdb.dll

SYMPTOMS

When you try to merge data from a database into a Microsoft Works 2000 Word Processor document or a Microsoft Word 2000 document, you may receive the following error message after you receive the Works is importing data message:

Wkswp caused a stack fault in module Wkmmwdb.dll

When you click Close, you receive the following error message:

Wkswp cause an invalid page fault in module Dao360.dll

When you click Close, Word 2000 or the Works 2000 Word Processor quits unexpectedly, and your mail-merge document is not saved.

Note On a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer, you do not receive any of the preceding error messages, but Word 2000 or the Works 2000 Word Processor quits unexpectedly.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if one or more of the following conditions are true:

A field name in the data that you are attempting to merge contains an invalid character, such as ".," "/," "#," or ">."
A function or formula in the data that you are attempting to merge contains an invalid or missing reference.
The printer driver for your printer is damaged or outdated.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use the method that is appropriate to the cause.

A Field Name Contains an Invalid Character

If any field name in the data set that you want to merge contains an invalid character, rename the field, and make sure to include only valid characters in the field name.

A Function or Formula Contains an Invalid or Missing Reference

If a function or formula in the data set that you want to merge contains an invalid or missing reference, use one of the following methods:

Repair any invalid reference or references to make them valid.
If possible, do not select the field with the invalid or missing reference as one of the fields to merge when you mail merge the data.
Remove any field with an invalid or missing reference from the data set.

If you need to merge all of the data in the database, and you are unable to fix the invalid or missing characters or references, save the database as a .csv file, and then mail merge the data in the .csv file. When you save the database file as a .csv file, you remove all of the functions and formulas from the database.
